Whilst many of the most popular sets available today feature a nickel plated steel wrap wire over a hexagonal shaped core, GHS Boomers certainly buck the trend as these are made with nickel plated steel wire over a round core. This central round core means that the outer wrap wire and core move "as one" and more freely giving these strings more flexibility and more power too... hence the name "Boomers"
